Frequently Asked Questions

Should I book a Wellness Massage or Therapeutic Massage?
The difference between the two treatments is that therapeutic sessions focus on achieving goals or encouraging change in the body. If you have a complaint to address, general or specific, then a therapeutic session is recommended. If you're more interested in the holistic benefits of massage, such as relaxation & stress relief, improving mobility & flexibility, or reducing muscle tension, then a wellness massage is for you. We can always chat in person to figure out what's the best fit for you!

How long of a session should I book?
This depends greatly on personal preference! Here's what I'm usually able to accomplish in my sessions to help you decide:
60 minutes: 1-2 areas of focus OR a brief check-in with the full body.
90 minutes: 2-3 areas for focus, full body maintenance work, OR 1-2 areas with a little extra tension relief included.
120 minutes: 3-4 areas of focus, 1-2 focus areas with the full body included, OR a thorough restorative session that will melt away your stress!

I'm Plus-Sized, is that alright?
YES -- massage is for ALL bodies, no matter your size or fitness level! Some other styles of massage (such as Thai or Shiatsu) require the table to hold 2 people, so please don't worry at all. My table is safely rated for up to 650lbs.
I'm Trans or GNC, is that okay?
Absolutely! Massage is for EVERY body & I take great pride in making my office a judgement free space for all clients. If there's anything I can do to help you feel comfortable in the treatment room, please just let me know!

How should I prepare for my massage?
The most important thing is to arrive clean & odor free. Aftercare is actually much more important for massage -- it can dehydrate you & causes your body to spend some energy. Be sure to drink extra water the day-of & have a filling meal. It's a lot like recovery for a low-impact workout, except you don't have to do any of the hard work!
